Indiana Highway Ends

SR 19

State Road 19 State Road 19 had long been a discontinuous route consisting of two sections, but was united into a single section in 2008. The northern section of Indiana 19 existed since 1926 pretty much as it is except for the stretch north of Elkhart which was affected by US 112. The portion between Peru and SR 18 was added on when SR 21 was decommissioned, and Indiana 19 slowly overtook US 112/Indiana 112 to the north of Elkhart. The southern portion came into being in the 1940s. In 2008, multiplexes with existing SR 22, US 35, SR 13, and SR 18 connected the two sections creating a single route from Elkhart to Noblesville.
