Indiana Highway Ends

State Road 56 SR 56 wanders and jogs almost across the width of the state. It begins at US 41 near Hazleton and ends at US 50 in Aurora in the southeastern part of the state. For a part, it goes along the Ohio River, and for a part it is a primary highway. In the 1930s, it actually extended north from Lawrenceburg to US 52 along the route that is now SR 1. In the western part of the state, SR 56 originally followed the current routing of SR 64.
