US 36US 36 spans the the state going through the center part. It is quite busy ay many points, but is not a major intercity route. Rather, its primary importance is as a major thoroughfare connecting outlying suburbs if Indianapolis such as Pendleton, Lawrence, Avon, and Danville. Around Indianapolis, it multiplexes with the south part of I-465 from Pendleton Pike to Rockville Road.US 36 was one of the original US highways. Its eastern terminus was originally in Indianapolis, but in 1932 it was extended into Ohio. |
