Illinois State Route 31

Illinois 31 goes from Richmond south to Oswego in far west suburban Chicago. For the majority of the route, it follows the west bank of the Fox River passing through the cities of Elgin, St. Charles, and Aurora. The original Illinois 31 went from Quincy to Canton over current US 24, which took over by the mid-1930s.
